Meet Musa Loum: Turning Organic Farming into a Growing Business in The Gambia
Musa Loum is a young Gambian entrepreneur and founder of Master Farmer Natural Products. He transforms local crops into healthy organic goods like Moringa tea, honey, and handmade soaps. His mission is to promote natural living, create jobs, and support rural development through agribusiness.
Musa Loum is a passionate young entrepreneur from Torro Bah Village in the North Bank Region of The Gambia. Raised in a farming family, Musa grew up with a deep respect for agriculture and the land. After receiving hands-on training at MyFarm, he decided to take his passion further by creating Master Farmer Natural Products.
From a small shop in Latrikunda Market, Musa now produces and sells a variety of organic and natural products. His offerings include Moringa tea, Moringa powder, Moringa oil, natural honey, herbal blends, organic pepper sauce, and handmade soaps all processed and packaged locally with care.
His goal is simple: to promote natural living, create jobs, and turn local crops into high-quality, healthy products that benefit both people and the planet.
Musa's journey hasn’t been easy. He’s faced challenges like limited funding, outdated equipment, small workspaces, and trouble finding consistent packaging. But he continues to push forward, proud of his progress and fueled by the growing support of health-conscious customers.
One of his proudest moments was setting up his business after completing training, and seeing people appreciate his products and mission. In the next few years, Musa hopes to expand his reach across The Gambia and begin exporting his products internationally. He also plans to employ more staff and create job opportunities for other young people.
His advice to other entrepreneurs:
“Stay committed and follow your passion. That’s what will keep you moving forward during hard times.”
